What are the causes of Gynecomastia?
What causes Gynecomastia? It is a rising problem these days with more and more men being embarrassed to take their shirts off as they have man boobs. Here are the most common causes.
Gaining weight – gaining weight is the number one cause of Gynecomastia today. Many men don’t exercise, preferring to sit on the couch. Also fast food and ready meals are much easier than cooking, making them too tempting for many. One of the places the fat collects is the chest area – causing man boobs.
Hormone levels – this may be your cause of Gynecomastia, and therefore no amount of exercise will completely get rid of your man boobs. There is an easy fix for this by incorporating certain food in your diet and avoiding some others.
Puberty – it’s a stage of life we all go through and this often causes Gynecomastia in young men. It’s something that exercise can really help with but at the end of the day you probably just have to wait to grow a bit older.
Aging – as we get older we accumulate more fat and lose muscle tone. If we don’t work out to keep the fat down and muscles in good order then this can cause Gynecomastia. What can you do about it? Take some gentle exercise and eat the right foods.
Drugs and alcohol – certain illegal drugs are known to cause Gynecomastia, but legal drugs and medicine can sometimes be the cause too. This may be difficult to overcome. Alcohol is totally self inflicted and you can easily so something about that. If you like the drink too much to give it up, do more exercise and eat better.
Steroid abuse – ironically, trying to build big muscle by using steroids can cause man boobs, so whilst you may have a fantastic 6 pack and big arms your chest can let you down. It’s always better to go natural I’m afraid.
