How To Build Your Own Article Information Publishing Empire!
Back in the old days, hopeful writers daydreamed about publishing their own book, becoming a bestselling author, and getting a real big book advance when it came time for their next best seller. But that’s the old publishing model.
Now you can build your own publishing empire since the birth of digital printing and self-publishing businesses. In fact that has changed the whole playing field. Now you don’t need the “big boys” to establish yourself as a credible expert or profitable author. Even non-writers are getting in on the action!
If you know information and can write simple articles that would be valuable to another person, then you have the potential to grow your own information-based publishing business quickly, and I’m going to explain how step-by-step.
I’ve created this basic article information publishing outline based on cost to your prospects. For example, the first product that you publish can be offered free to the client to introduce them to your information. Later you can offer this same client more products — and as they follow this infoproduct outline, the cost of each product increases and your profits grow. Best of all — all of these items can be created with articles that you have sitting on your computer’s hard drive!
Product 1 – Write an ezine or newsletter.
This is a complimentary weekly or monthly information newsletter that delivers quick tips and information on your topic. It’s important to do a good job with this because people will probably make a decision on whether or not to buy from you based on the quality of the information that you provide.
Product 2 – Write a traditional book
It may surprise you that a print book lies this early in the publishing outline, but the truth is that most people aren’t making fortunes writing books. Sure — maybe the Twilight and Harry Potter authors are, but they are exceptions. Traditional books should be used more as marketing tools, especially for folks like us who are in the information business. Think of it as a high-class calling card which adds more credibility to you and your business.
Product 3 – Write an ebook or ecourse
Writing an ebook comes next in our info-publishing pyramid, because you can charge more for the information – than you can a traditional book.
Product 4 – Home Study Program
Take some of your articles, ebook content, audios and/or videos and compile them together in an easy-to-understand system. If your readers have bought your last two products, they are probably very interested in learning more from you and working with you. Great thing – is that you build this entire program using content that you may already have plus a few things you may want to add or that others in your field have contributed.
Product 5 – Create A Membership Program
All membership sites or programs are based around specialized information. In most programs you are giving valuable content plus providing a bit of hand-holding through learning the information. This is a great way to build a closer knit community of people who want to learn from you and want to connect with each other (depending on the type of membership program you provide). I do this in my article marketing training program Articology.
Product 6 – Weekend Workshop
I just love live events! That’s because I love getting tons of content in a live setting where I have the opportunity to ask the coach questions. This is what many of your devoted students or clients will eventually want from you. A chance to really dig into the content you have in a face-to-face setting. Again – all you are doing is taking your existing content and delivering it in another way.
*Optional Service – Coaching
As an information publisher, you can create information packed or curriculum based coaching programs for your clients. Instead of working with the clients one on one, you can group coach several clients and coach them through a series of lessons that you create.
You also have the additional option of selling a hard copy of that curriculum once you no longer private coaching around that particular focus of your business.
While you may not be able to complete all of these products overnight, you can absolutely get started creating your first product if you have at least 5 articles on tap.
**Remember that all of these products can be created from articles that you have already written and even published – cool huh!
